Plastic makes life simpler, more colorful, less expensive and malleable at will. That is why we are producing more and more of it.By 1950, world production of plastic was 1.7 million tons, by 2014 it already exceeded 300 million tons. But what are the consequences of this lasting success?

In addition to creating safety problems during production, many chemical additives that give plastic products desirable performance properties also have negative environmental and human health effects. These effects include
B- The Existing Solutions
I- Company Presentation
Vivex Engineering New Ocean Cleanup Concept is to collect and eco-valorize IN THE SAME TIME and LOCALLY INSIDE THE OCEAN the marine waste plastic into a HIGH QUALITY FUEL that can be used as very important SOURCE OF ENERGY as everyone knows.
The PYROCTAN is an oil tanker specialized for the pyrolysis of marine plastic waste inside the ocean with capacity to work continuously for 3 months, before to come back to seaport for to empty the tanks.
[1] If we produce only crude oil, the quantity is as show in Table
[2] If we want to produce Diesel Fuel, the quantity of Diesel is what show in Tab, but there is not Crude Oil.
[3] If we want to produce Gasoline Fuel, the quantity of Gasoline is what show in Tab, but there is not Crude Oil and not Diesel. What remains from the process is heavy Oil that can be used for other applications
[4] If the raw material is inclusive of Tyres there is also Carbon Black as by-product & steel

I- The impact on the environment
- If plastic is not recycled, it often ends up being dumped into the ocean.
- Due to the dumping of plastic waste in the oceans, wildlife and marine flora are destroyed.
- Since plastic is not biodegradable, it causes long-lasting pollution. Between 60 and 85% of the waste collected on the littoral are plastics.
- One of the many examples of pollution from plastic is the "continent" of waste, the "Trash Vortex", which covers 3.5 million km² in the North Pacific Ocean. It consists of 100 million tons of floating plastic debris, making it the largest landfill. It is destroying the Pacific flora and fauna. Indeed, it is estimated that more than one million seabirds and more than 100,000 marine mammals die each year due to the ingestion of plastic debris, such as turtles that confuse jellyfish and plastic bags.

II- The Impact on Health
- Direct toxicity, as in the cases of lead, cadmium, and mercury
- Carcinogens, as in the case of diethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP)
- Endocrine disruption, which can lead to cancers, birth defects, immune system supression and developmental problems in children.
- Recent studies on Bisphenol A and phthalates, chemicals in plastics, show that these can cause diseases such as cancer.
B- The Existing Solutions
The existing solutions for to try solve this problem are:
- The 3R rule : Reduce - Reuse - Recycle ;
- Recycle is not allowed to all types of plastics
- Reuse is valid but limited to some contest.
Industrial engagement; commit to reducing the environmental impact of plastic through clear objectives and deadlines and innovate to increase resource efficency and recycing.
Citizen engagement; for the consumer, the solution is common sense through a series of eco-citizen gestures.
C- The Proposal Solution By Vivex Engineering
After many years of research, Vivex Engineering has developped a new solutions for to solve in a ecological way the plastic problem
The main idea is to give back to waste plastic the original form: the PETROL
Vivex Engineering is an international Company focused on environmental field.
After different years of work and tests, the Vivex R&D Department successfully developed an efficient and sustainable application for the eco-valorization of plastic waste inplace.
II- Technology Presentation
Pyrolysis is a thermochemical cracking of organic material at elevated temperatures in
the absence of oxygen (or any halogen).
It involves the simultaneous
change of chemical composition and physical phase, and is
irreversible.
Of course, one is tempted to describe the
pyrolysis as being 'the burning of
waste in absence of air’.
While not adequate in scientific terms, this
definition has the essence of the process, which is: the heating of a material
under controlled atmosphere in which there is not enough oxygen to initiate
combustion flame. Thus, the material is fragmented into substances that can be
used as fuel.
More formally, the pyrolysis is the thermal
degradation of carbon materials in absence of oxygen, or so small quantity that
gasification has no place at a significant rate. Such processes volatilize and
decompose organic matter by the heat and not the fire, where the etymological
confusion.
When a residual material is burned in a modern
incinerator, in apparent is almost exclusively energy. In pyrolysis, we get a
gas fraction, a liquid fraction, and a solid residue, in proportions varying
according to the used type of pyrolysis and reaction parameters.
As a result, it offers several possibilities
of development of these products. For example, one of these fractions can be
refined into recyclables, while another fraction can produce energy.
Packages, bottles plastic supermarket bags,
plastic non-recyclable... Product derived from crude oil, non-recycled plastic
will soon find a second life being transformed into fuel.
III- The By-Products
As we saw previously, the product is a solid (black
pyrolytic, carbon black, steel), a liquid (oil) and gas.
Diesel
Diesel conform to EU standards wich can be used directly in boiler, heating system, marine engine.
Carbon black
Can be used as solid fuel, activated carbon, pigment color in ink industry.
Gas
Gas of pyrolysis typically presents from C1 to C4.
III- The advantage of Vivex Pyrolysis Technology
- Protecting the environment and eco-valorize polymer wastes (plastic; rubber; synthetic textile, tyres, electric and electronic waste, lubricating oil)
- Mechanical and thermodynamics innovation
- Enjoy the highest quality of fuels (diesel; gas; carbon black)
- Encourage new technologies and green innovations
- Compact, mobile, modular unit
- Respect all safety standards Health and emissions
- Offers over than 70% of energy saving
- Provides high quality fuels with low sulphur content
VI- Comparaison Between Our System And Competitors
- Can produce either diesel (fuel); crude oil or carbon black as required: simply change the settings to choose the desired material. without adding another distillation or depollution unit
- Does not generate toxic pollution, (air-water-soil)
- Comparing with other plants of pyrolysis, our system assure the economy of energy because it can make auto production of gas that is useful and enough for to be running all the day.
- Our System can produce with the same unit the Crud oil or Diesel or Gasoline, just need to make some system settings. However other plants must add new unit for a second or third distillation to extract the product that need: it spend time energy and money…
The different innovations are:
The Pyroctan : solution for the ocean platic
The MPP: a mobile system for convert plastic waste in fuel everywhere
V. PYROCTAN AS SOLUTION FOR OCEAN PLASTIC POLLUTION
PYROCTAN’s objective are straightforward:
- Remove the plastic by ocean with high efficiency
- The Eco-valorization ( transformation of the plastic debris into high quality fuel)
